Winter at the Lake

I drink mug after mug of coffee to combat the cold and battle exhaustion due to grey skies and stagnation. But then I get so jittery from being stuck inside (and yes, the caffeine), I feel like I want to crawl out of my dehydrated skin. I’ve embraced winter as much as I can, but at this point, I’m ready to escape.

My mom asked me tonight if I thought Cash would remember the time that they spent together. I emphatically blurted out “Yes of course!” And then I had a more emotional reaction. I cried at the thought of how special their relationship is; how lucky both Cash and I are to have her in our lives; and that she won’t be around forever.

2018 in Review

2018 will go down in history at one of the most difficult and rewarding years in my life. I’ve been stretched, tested and swung to extremes so far beyond what I every though possible. I’m beginning to realize that it’s in those extremes where the best stuff emerges. The pain and suffering stings, but it’s taught me to appreciate and show gratitude for all the good in my life.
