Parenting is....

I’ve been thinking a lot about how my life has changed so dramatically since I’ve become a parent over seven years ago. There is no way you can ever be prepared since every person’s experience and circumstance is so different, but the best way I can describe it is that it’s full of opposites, and give and take. It goes a little something like this:

Parenting is…

Hard but also easy

Restrictive but also freeing

Frustrating but also illuminating

Requires teaching, but also learning

Challenge but also rewarding

A loss of identity but also gaining a new one

Exhausting but also…exhausting
