Life is Messy

As I get older, the more I trust my intuition and believe in the powers of universe. For the record, I am also a strong believer that life can be completely random, it just often depends on what you need to believe put your mind ease.

I have a habit of checking Little Free Libraries wherever I go, not only because I adore books, but also because I often find exactly what I didn’t realize I needed (thanks to the universe, maybe?) So a few weeks ago, I found this book called “Life is Messy.” I thought how appropriate a title, because it really can be.

There were a lot of great nuggets of wisdom, but the one concept that stuck with me was how essential inspiration and creativity are for daily life. There are so many things lately that have been squashing my inspiration and creativity - bad weather, kids’ mood swings, too much work, etc.

Author Matthew Kelly argues that everyone is creative, it’s simply doing something with passion and purpose. He continues to say:

  • Inspiration brings out the best of us - it allows us to live and love creatively.

  • When we are inspired and living creatively, it affects all of our actions, especially our decision making.

  • Wherever you derive inspiration - books, film, music, nature - find a way to build it in to your daily routine

  • Stress, unhappiness and anxiety are messages from the body that your life has been knocked out of alignment with your values.

  • Living with integrity is integrating your actions with what we know to be good, true, just and right.

This all resonates with me so strongly and I hope it does with you too. Just in case you need a bit more to ponder, I left the book in my Little Free Library, if you know where I live in Whitefish Bay. For the rest of May, find me digging up inspiration until I feel a bit more balanced.
